Publication Ethics

The editorial board of the "Ilmiy xabarnoma. Fizika-matematika tadqiqotlari – Scientific Bulletin Physical and Mathematical Research" journal bases its activities on publication ethics principles accepted by the international community, particularly those reflected in the Code of Ethics for Scientific Publications (Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE)), and also takes into account the experience of prestigious international scientific journals and publishers.

To avoid unacceptable practices such as plagiarism, compilation of scientific facts, presentation of unreliable data, ensure high quality of scientific articles, and public recognition of authors' scientific results, members of the editorial board, authors, reviewers, publishers, and institutions involved in the publication process must adhere to ethical standards and rules and take reasonable measures against their violation.

Basic concepts used in this regulation

  • Scientific publication ethics – a system of professional conduct standards in the relationships between authors, editors, publishers, and readers in the process of preparing, distributing, and using scientific publications.
  • Author – a person or group of persons (team of authors) participating in the publication of scientific research results.
  • Editor-in-Chief – a person who manages the editorial office and makes final decisions related to the preparation and publication of the journal.
  • Publisher – a legal entity or individual engaged in publishing a scientific journal.
  • Scientific article – a completed and published work of authorship.
  • Plagiarism – appropriation of another's scientific or artistic work, idea, or invention.
  • Editor – a representative of a scientific journal or publishing house who prepares materials for publication.
  • Editorial Board – an advisory body consisting of a group of respected scientists.
  • Reviewer – an expert acting on behalf of the editorial office who conducts scientific review of materials submitted by the author.
  • Manuscript – an author's work submitted to the editorial office in printed or electronic form but not yet published.
  • Reader – any person who has read the published material.

Violation of publication ethics

When violations of publication ethics by an editor, reviewer, or author are identified, they must be thoroughly investigated. This requirement applies equally to both published and unpublished materials. In such cases, the editorial board should request explanations regarding the situation that has arisen.
